While these events are often celebrated for unity and entertainment\, they can also create environments where exploitation thrives due to high demand for labor and commercial sex\, increased tourism\, and strained local resources. \nJoin the Alliance To End Human Trafficking on May 21 at 2 p.m. EST for a session that will explore the complex relationship between major events and human trafficking\, separating myths from realities while highlighting known risk factors\, recruitment tactics\, and the populations most at risk. Panelists will examine how traffickers capitalize on opportunity\, the role of online platforms and short-term rentals\, and the importance of coordinated responses among law enforcement\, service providers\, hospitality staff\, and community members. \nAttendees will gain insight into prevention strategies and actionable steps that organizations\, event planners\, and communities can take to reduce risk and respond effectively.
