Webinar: Breaking the Link: Work Authorization for Asylum Seekers Protects them from Trafficking

Description

Asylum seekers in the U.S. are at risk of sex and labor trafficking when not allowed to find legal work and provide for their families. Join Catholic Sisters and people of goodwill on Wednesday April 17 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm EDT for a webinar to encourage Congress to fix this vulnerability and also to eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic red tape by passing H.R. 1325, the Asylum Seeker Work Authorization Act.

Learning Objectives: At the end of the session, participants will better understand:

  • Understand migrants’ vulnerability to human trafficking;
  • Be able to evaluate work authorization as one solution to human trafficking;
  • Learn about pending legislation to provide for work authorizations for asylum seekers; and
  • Know why AEHT and NAC are supporting at the federal level as we work to combat human trafficking.
