Summit Theme
“Breaking the Silence: Global Unity Against Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking” This theme highlights the urgent need for collective responsibility and coordinated global action. It calls on governments, advocates, survivors, and communities worldwide to unite in ending abuse and advancing safety, equality, and justice for all.

Summit Overview
The Global Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Summit brings together Advocates, Survivors, Policymakers, Educators, Service Providers, Faith Based to confront the urgent and interconnected issues of domestic violence, gender‑based violence, and human trafficking.

Summit Purpose
This summit serves as a dynamic platform for education, collaboration, and policy development. It features keynote speakers, survivor‑led panels, interactive workshops, and solution‑driven roundtables designed to inspire action, elevate survivor voices, and advance meaningful global change.

Objectives
1. Raise Awareness of the global impact, prevalence, and long‑term consequences of
domestic and gender‑based violence.
2. Promote Collaboration among government agencies, NGOs, survivor‑led
organizations, and international networks.
3. Develop Policy Recommendations that strengthen prevention, protection, and
prosecution efforts worldwide.
4. Empower Survivors to share their experiences, shape meaningful dialogue, and
inform sustainable global solutions.
5. Provide Training and Capacity Building for professionals, advocates, and community
leaders to strengthen effective response and prevention strategies.

Key Statistics (2024–2025 Data)
Violence Against Women:
• 1 in 3 women (30%) worldwide experience physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime, most often by an intimate partner (WHO).
• 1 in 4 women (26%) have experienced intimate partner violence specifically (WHO).
• 1 in 10 girls have experienced forced sexual acts before age 18 (UNICEF).
• 60% of female homicides are committed by an intimate partner or family member (UN
Women).

Violence Against Men:
• 1 in 6 men report experiencing domestic abuse in their lifetime (UN Women).
• Men are less likely to report sexual violence, but global estimates suggest 8% of men
experience sexual violence other than by a partner (WHO).
Sexual Violence: (General Population)
• Conflict‑related sexual violence continues to rise, with women and girls representing
the majority of documented cases (UN Security Council Report).
• Humanitarian crises significantly increased risk, with displaced women and girls
facing rates of sexual violence up to 3 times higher than non‑displaced populations
(UNHCR). (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. It is the UN agency
responsible for protecting refugees, displaced people, and stateless individuals, and for
supporting countries in providing shelter, safety, and long‑term solutions.

Children & Adolescents:
• 1 in 4 children experience physical, sexual, or emotional violence before age 18.
( WHO).
• Child sexual abuse affects 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 13 boys globally
(CDC/WHO Meta‑analysis).
• Online exploitation cases have surged, with reports increasing by over 80% since
2020 (INTERPOL).

Economic Impact
• Domestic violence costs the global economy an estimated $1.5 trillion annually, equal
to 2% of global GDP (World Bank).
